THE PIVOT POINT
“Who Jesus Was”
Jesus revealed who he was not only through his teachings, but through his miracles. This Sunday, we’ll look at a miracle that revealed his plan to not just meet people’s physical needs, but their spiritual needs as well. Chris Coli will talk to us about the hunger pangs of our soul and Jesus’ plan to feed them. We’ll also share communion.

20 and 30-Something Activities
Hike up and Around Mt. Diablo
Saturday, July 25, 9am. This is for single and married people, but this time – no kids allowed. We’ll chose how difficult we make the hike based on who decides they want to come. We’re limiting this event to the first 20 people who sign up. We’ll meet at Blackhawk Plaza in Danville (right outside the movie theaters). Afterward we’ll return to Blackhawk Plaza where we can sit by the pond and grab a burger and something to drink. E-mail Ana Traska to let her know you’d like to attend (anamarieski@yahoo.com). We’ll carpool into the park to reduce the cost ($7/car).
All Ages
July POP (Pray Over People) Focus
Praise God for those who serve us in the military. Pray for peace and safety for our CrossWinds military families and all our military families. Pray for the time when our world will be only for You again, Lord, and peace will reign. If you have people you love in the military and you would like us to pray for them by name, please send name, branch of service, and where deployed to cbobbitt@crosswindschurch.org and we will pray over them.
For Our Kids
KidzALIVE! Is the Children’s Ministry of CrossWinds Church. “ALIVE” stands for “A Life in View of Eternity.” Our desire is for every child to understand God’s unconditional love for them. Every Sunday we offer the following children’s ministry venues:
Nursery – Room 111A
Toddlers – Room 107
Early Childhood (2’s & 3’s) – Room 105
Pre-K & Kindergarten – Room 104
Elementary Age (1st-5th Grades) – Room 108
Special Needs – Room 111
Summer Slam 2009 (Kindergarten – 5th Grade only)
July 27-31. Cost: $65/child. This year’s theme is “Transformation Station” – The History Makers. “Transformation Station” is about every child knowing the real and life changing power of God in their lives and becoming a “History Maker.” Our transformation will begin with the kids learning that life is about choices, decisions, and consequences. Their journey will end with kids knowing that God has placed them at this point in history for a reason, that God wants them to know that they can make a difference where they are right now, and that they can ALL be “History Makers.” Register online at www.kizalive.net. Questions? Contact Marc Griffiths at mgriffiths@crosswindschurch.org.
Parent Volunteers Needed for Summer – “ONE TIME” VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY!
This summer, the Children’s Ministry would love to give our faithful volunteer team six weeks off. To do this we need parents (or whomever would like) to volunteer once, maybe twice, over this six week period. Volunteering DOES NOT REQUIRE ANY PREP WORK and you would only have to volunteer for one service. You can volunteer at any service between now and August 9. Sign-up boards are located OUTSIDE of each KidzAlive classroom. If you have any questions, please contact mgriffiths@crosswindschurch.org or 925-560-3848.
